PASQUE'S RETURN, by FANNIE BARRIER WILLIAMS Poet's Biography First Line: Again the pasque! Again the gift of beauty Last Line: Is lying in the beauty of the cup. Subject(s): Beauty; Spring | ||||||||
Again the Pasque! Again the gift of beauty, The pointed chalice with its heart of gold! Once more resurgence from a long quiescence! Once more the Springtime by the purple told! Again the hands of happy little children Are filled with blossoms for a token sweet; At last the bleakness of the far-flung prairies Is broken by the color at our feet. Again it brings its gift for mortal healing; Again it holds its gorgeous bounty up; Perchance we find a soul's revivifying Is lying in the beauty of the cup. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD A DAKOTA IDYL by FANNIE BARRIER WILLIAMS |
