UNFULFILLED, by EDITH WYMAN First Line: Rainbow's arch against the sky Last Line: I wish my rainbow could be round! Subject(s): Hope; Love; Rainbows; Optimism | ||||||||
Rainbow's arch against the sky, Symbolic hope that will not die. A gift, concealed in storm's despair, A sign of heavenly promise where Its glowing colors please the eye, With harmonies that satisfy. But a rainbow is a broken arc, It makes no perfect circle mark. And like the bow within my heart, It typifies a hope apart; A lovely shining mist, shot through And colored bright with love for you. But unfulfilled, it trails the ground, I wish my rainbow could be round! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HOPE IS NOT FOR THE WISE by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SONNET: 9.
