A LOVE-LORN lad wooed a coy maid once, All of a summer's day he plead; Oft he spoke of the bonds of love -- the dunce! And she shyly shook her head. When from his heart hope had almost fled, He spoke of bonds he had in town. Still the shy little maiden shook her head -- But she shook it up and down. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LIE DOWN WITH A MAN by TONY HOAGLAND ARISTOTLE TO PHYLLIS by JOHN HOLLANDER PORTRAIT WITH BROWN HAIR by DONALD JUSTICE NATIONAL NUDIST CLUB NEWSLETTER by WAYNE KOESTENBAUM BLACKOUT SONNETS by JOAN LARKIN SEX IS NOT IMPORTANT by JAN HELLER LEVI WHAT THE MAGDALENE SAW by TIMOTHY LIU TIS A LITTLE JOURNEY by ANONYMOUS |
