DAILY BREAD, by ANONYMOUS First Line: Day by day the manna fell Last Line: Glowing yet with gratitude! Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
Day by day the manna fell; Oh, to learn this lesson well! Still by constant mercy fed, Give us, Lord, our daily bread. "Day by day" the promise reads; Daily strength for daily needs: Cast foreboding fears away; Take the manna of today. Lord, our times are in Thy hand: All our sanguine hopes have planned To Thy wisdom we resign, And would mould our wills to Thine. Thou our daily task shalt give; Day by day to Thee we live; So shall added years fulfill Not our own, our Father's will. Oh, to live exempt from care By the energy of prayer; Strong in faith, with mind subdued Glowing yet with gratitude! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
