GENTLY HE DRAWETH ME UNTO HIS BOSOM, by
Last Line: Proving his love again and again!
Subject(s): Jesus Christ

Gently He draweth me unto His bosom,
Shepherd divine and Saviour of men;
Bidding me linger in holy communion,
Proving His love again and again!

Gently He draweth when cares would possess me,
Crowded with duties that leave little time,
Gently He calleth, "O come with your burden,
I will sustain thee, dear child of Mine!"

Gently He draweth when fears would o'erwhelm me,
Making me think that the battle is lost;
Gently He touched my eyes and I vision
The unconquered throngs of the heavenly host!"

Gently He draweth when sorrow o'ertakes me,
Shares in my grief when the tempest is high,
Lovingly bidding me fly to my refuge,
The comforting "Rock that is higher than I."

Gently He draweth whenever I'm wounded,
Broken in body, or weary in soul,
Whispering, "Rest in the arms of your Saviour,"
Blessed Physician, who maketh me whole!

Gently He draweth me unto His bosom,
Shepherd divine, and Saviour of men;
Bidding me linger in holy communion,
Proving His love again and again!
