First Line: "lady fair, hanging there"
Last Line: "lady fair, hanging there, / you're quite ugly, on the wall"
Subject(s): Portraits

I.

LADY fair, hanging there,
Smiling on me from the wall,
Could you speak now, would you tell me
Something soft and low, or quell me
With a word of coy disdain,
Smiling silently again,
A lady fair, hanging there,
Looking slyly from the wall?

II.

Lady fair, hanging there,
Smiling on me from the wall,
Could you know now what I'm thinking
As I gaze with drowsy blinking
On your face of oily pink,
You'd stop smiling, -- for I think,
Lady fair, hanging there,
You're quite ugly, on the wall.
