AT THE ZOO IN SPAIN by CLARENCE MAJOR

Poem Explanation Poet Analysis

First Line: BOUND TO THE EARTH
Last Line: THEIR OWN REBIRTH
Subject(s): ZOOS;

Bound to the earth,
the pink flamingos
stand long
on one leg
in the shallow pool,
making not a sound.
With eyes closed,
they are meditating on
and dreaming of
their own rebirth.
