A RIDDLE by MOTHER GOOSE

First Line: THE MAN IN THE WILDERNESS ASKED OF ME
Last Line: AS MANY RED HERRINGS AS GROW IN A WOOD.
Subject(s): RIDDLES;

The man in the wilderness asked of me,
How many strawberries grow in the sea?
I answered him as I thought good,
As many red herrings as grow in a wood.
