SHADOWS by VICTOR GUSTAVE PLARR

First Line: A SONG OF SHADOWS: NEVER GLORY WAS
Last Line: THE SHADOW OF THY BEAUTY OVER ME.
Subject(s): BEAUTY; SHADOWS;

A song of shadows: never glory was
But it had some soft shadow that would lie
On wall, on quiet water, on smooth grass,
Or in the vistas of the phantasy:

The shadow of the house upon the lawn,
Upon the house the shadow of the tree,
And through the moon-steeped hours unto the dawn
The shadow of thy beauty over me.
