SONG OF YOUTH by LULU PIPER AIKEN

First Line: THE LODESTAR GUIDES THE SAILOR ON
Last Line: SO LONG AS I AM I!
Subject(s): YOUTH;

The lodestar guides the sailor on,
The huntsman marks the trail,
Galahad owned no lexicon
To help him find the grail.

And though dawns call diurnally
And falls burn red as rust,
Of small concern they all will be
To eyes and ears of dust.

But what the heart has drunk to slake
Its thirst of bread laid by
No greedy claw of time can take
So long as I am I!
