THE STORK by GHALIB IBN RIBAH AL-HAJJAM

First Line: SHE COMES, AN EXILE FAIR
Last Line: OF SANDAL-WOOD.
Subject(s): STORKS;

She comes, an exile fair
In flight, to bear
Glad tidings on her wing
Of joyous spring.

Spread wings of ebony,
Clapped ivory,
Squawked laughter loud and good
Of sandal-wood.
