WINTER SUNSET by EVA K. ANGLESBURG

First Line: NOT IN A CRINGING WAY
Last Line: GOES DOWN TO DIE.
Subject(s): COURTS & COURTIERS; DEATH; WINTER; ROYAL COURT LIFE; ROYALTY; KINGS; QUEENS; DEAD, THE;

Not in a cringing way,
Proudly departing day
Goes down to die.

Sumptuously clothed in green,
Turquoise and tourmaline,
Saffron and flame, the queen
Goes down to die.

Down to the arms of night,
Gemmed with the jewel-bright
Hues of the sky,
Day in a blaze of light
Goes down to die.
