DROWNED IN HARBOUR by ANTIPATER OF THESSALONICA

First Line: ALL SEA IS STILL THE SEA: WHY VAINLY BLAME
Last Line: KNOW WELL THAT SEAS BE SEAS, AS HERE I LIE.
Subject(s): DROWNING;

ALL sea is still the sea: why vainly blame
The Needles, Cyclades, or Helle's jaws?
Them I escaped for all their empty fame,
And Scarphe's haven sank me -- for what cause?
Who will, may pray safe passage home; but I
Know well that seas be seas, as here I lie.
