AUTUMN MOOD by DRUSA APPLEY

First Line: LOW HANGING CLOUDS IN SULLEN GUISE
Last Line: SHE HASTENS TO THE SEA.
Subject(s): AUTUMN; SEASONS; FALL;

Low hanging clouds in sullen guise
Obscure the beauty of the skies;
The winds with tireless efforts flout
The wet and wanton leaves about
In tantalizing glee.
The stream reflects the sullen sky
And murmurs as she hurries by
A protest at the wind's rude kiss --
Her fickle lover to dismiss,
She hastens to the sea.
