SONG, FR. ARTAXERXES (OPERA) by THOMAS AUGUSTINE ARNE

First Line: WATER, PARTED FROM THE SEA
Last Line: TILL IT REACH ITS NATIVE HOME.
Subject(s): FAREWELL; TRAVEL; PARTING; JOURNEYS; TRIPS;

WATER, parted from the sea,
May increase the river's tide,
To the bubbling fount may flee,
Or through fertile valleys glide.

Though in search of lost repose,
Through the land 'tis free to roam,
Still it murmurs as it flows,
Till it reach its native home.
