ENCHANTMENT by NELLE ARNOLD

First Line: NOW AUTUMN LEAF-FIRES HAVE COME TO THIS
Last Line: TILL WARM SPRING SUNLIGHT BARES EACH SCAR.
Subject(s): AUTUMN; SEASONS; FALL;

Now autumn leaf-fires have come to this;
Wrapt in a shining chrysalis,

Stony creek-bed and rutted hill
Swathed in cerements white and chill.

Let no footstep the magic mar
Till warm spring sunlight bares each scar.
