EYE of darkness, dim dominioned,
Stay, enchant me with thy might,
Earnest, gentle, dreamy-pinioned,
Sweet, unfathomable night.

With magician's mantle cover
All this day-world from my sight,
That for aye thy form may hover
O'er my being, lovely night.
