WARPED FLOWER by SHEILA BARBOUR

First Line: TWISTED AND PALE, OH PASSIONATE ONE
Last Line: UPON YOU SET.
Subject(s): FLOWERS;

Twisted and pale, oh passionate one,
Sullen and still,
Wearing your beauty like a cross,
Against your will;
Silken and white, oh languorous flower,
Slender and wan;
Exotic wraith for drifting mists
To breathe upon.
Too frail for those soft dews that make
Your petals wet,
Shrinking from every vivid glance
Upon you set.
