LIFE AND YOU by CHARLOTTE LOUISE BERTLESEN

First Line: ASK MUCH OF LIFE
Last Line: HER GOLDEN KEY.
Subject(s): BIRTH; FUTURE LIFE; CHILD BIRTH; MIDWIFERY; RETRIBUTION; ETERNITY; AFTER LIFE;

Ask much of Life;
Nor falter in your plea.
Be bold; for Life—
Brief segment
Of Eternity—
Grants eagerly to all
Who unafraid,
Make great demands.
No craven suppliant
She heeds; for lo,
Withdrawn she stands,
With troubled eye,
When timorous souls
(For trivial things)
Their birthright
Would deny.
Then greatly dare;
Make regal plea;
Life yields the bold
Her golden key.
