PSALM 39, VERSE 5 by OLD TESTAMENT BIBLE

First Line: THOU, BY A SPAN MEASUR'ST THESE DAYS OF MINE
Last Line: HIS BEST ESTATE IS ALTOGETHER VAIN.
Subject(s): TIME;

Thou by a span measur'st these days of mine,
Eternity's the spacious bound of thine:
Who shall compare his little span with thee,
With thine Incomprehensibility.
Man born to trouble leaves this world with pain,
His best estate is altogether vain.
