THE PAVANE by DORIS ELLEN BIESTERFELD

First Line: FOUR ROWS OF FOUR
Last Line: THE SOLEMN STRAIN LINGERING.
Subject(s): DANCING & DANCERS;

Four rows of four,
Poised and stately,
Four rows, no more.

Dignity in personification,
Effective carriage,
Each girl takes her station.

One unit of thought,
Gracefully moving,
A handiwork wrought.

Thoughts intermingling,
The Pavane moves on,
The solemn strain lingering.
