A MEMORY by HARRY RANDOLPH BLYTHE

First Line: I HAVE DREAMED OLD LOVES AND LIVED OLD TIMES
Last Line: FOR I'VE BEEN AGAIN WITH NANCY.
Subject(s): MEMORY;

I HAVE dreamed old loves and lived old times
Here in a moment's fancy,
I have kissed mute lips and heard old chimes,
And I'm once again with Nancy.

I have gone once more down the flowered lane
Where she and the moon were waiting,
And I've whispered words of joy and pain,
The old sweet words of mating.

I have felt the pulse of her beating heart,
The silk of her temple tresses,
The deep, dumb pain when we came to part,
And the rapture of caresses.

I have borne the weight of the withered years
Here in a moment's fancy,
Have smiled old smiles and wept old tears,
For I've been again with Nancy.
