I THOUGHT a veil was lifted from mine eyes, The veil that hides the mystic spirit land, I saw the mighty wonders of His hand For one rapt moment in my vision rise; The earth was filled with glory, and the skies With legions of His angels, band on band, The sea was white as crystal, gold its sand, And music shook the world and Paradise. About me were good men whom I had known, They passed me by nor stopped to look at me, While she, the woman who had been mine own, She answered not my call of agony.
