More fragrant seems the oleander bloom When dusky shadows with the moonbeams meet. When snowy lilies shed their soft perfume Come happy memories and bittersweet. What memories can hover round a flower Till one forgets the pleasure that it gave. The jasmine fragrance has a haunting power, Breathes romance and recalls an open grave. A fading rose can strangely cast its spell, And holds its glamour where it proudly lies.
