MORNING STAR by IDA MAY BORNCAMP

First Line: BACK OF THE MOUNTAINTOPS AT DAWN
Last Line: STIRRING MY SOUL WITH ITS LYRIC PSALM.
Subject(s): CRYSTALLIZATION; PHYSICS; STARS;

Back of the mountaintops at dawn
Through swaying leaves it shimmers and shines;
And, flooded with glory of summer morn,
Bursts forth from a forest of resinous pines.
Tipping the tree-tops sharp and clear,
A radiant beacon of crystal light
Fills my innermost heart with cheer.
An exquisite setting of wonder white,
A marvel of beauty, a singing lyre,
In tune with warblers that break the calm;
Awaking instincts as pure as fire --
Stirring my soul with its lyric psalm.
