DEEDS UNDONE by GAMALIEL BRADFORD

First Line: HE SCORNED THE GIFTS THAT FORTUNE BROUGHT
Last Line: GAVE HIM A GIANT'S STRENGTH.

He scorned the gifts that fortune brought,
And smiled, and went his way;
For some men still regard I ought
As greater than I may.

The path he trod forgot the sun
In unillumined length;
But deeds that he had never done
Gave him a giant's strength.
