ASHES by CATHERINE BRADSHAW

First Line: THE ROARING FURY OF THE FLAMING DARTS
Last Line: A MOMENT: NEITHER FLAME NOR SMOKE REMAINS.

The roaring fury of the flaming darts
That vainly leap to stretch into the sky
Hurl forth thick clouds of acrid smoke in wrath
To rise as towering columns in the blue.
A moment: neither flame nor smoke remains.
