SHEEP AT MOUNTAIN PASTURE by MARGARET CARROLL BRADY

First Line: RAM'S BELL PEALING, THE SHEEP GO BY
Last Line: THE PASTURE AISLE HOMING MAN AND SHEEP.

Ram's bell pealing, the sheep go by
To the mountain meadow bluely high;
The shepherd dreams ... still whiteness broods;
The ram's bell beating chill solitudes:
Still-hoofed they pass, heavy-eyed, slow,
Stumble into the fold where lost winds blow.

The fold is warm without fear they sleep:
The pasture aisle homing man and sheep.
