THE LAND OF HOPE-TO-BE by WILLIAM STANLEY BRAITHWAITE

First Line: THERE'S A WAY TO HAPPINESS
Last Line: BY THE SLEEPY STREAMS.
Subject(s): DREAMS; NIGHTMARES;

THERE'S a way to happiness
Up the road of Dreams,
Where my soul goes wayfaring
By the sleepy streams.
Heart that sends your memories
In the shape of song,
To the land of Hope-to-Be,
Is the journey long?
Nay, companion of my house,
In the longest flight,
Distance in desire is drowned
As the day in night.
Heart and soul go wayfaring
Up the road of Dreams,
To the land of Hope-to-Be
By the sleepy streams.
