TAKE YOUR CHOICE: ACCORDING TO FRANKLIN P. ADAMS by BERTON BRALEY

First Line: YOUNG CHLORIS HAD RINGLETS CLEAR DOWN TO HER EYEBROWS
Last Line: "AND PAINTING THE APPIAN WAY!"
Subject(s): ADAMS, FRANKLIN PIERCE (1881-1960); GIRLS; YOUTH;

Young Chloris had ringlets clear down to her eyebrows
And she bore a high moral rep;
She trotted around with respectable highbrows
And mostly was watching her step.
But there were occasions when Chloris would weaken
And stern Mrs. Grundy would say,
"That horrid young Chloris is vamping the deacon
And painting the Appian Way!"
