DIANA by JULIEN AUGUSTE PELAGE BRIZEUX

First Line: LOWER THY LARGE PURE EYES
Last Line: OFT BEAUTY SNARES AND SLAYS.
Subject(s): BEAUTY;

LOWER thy large pure eyes,
Blue as the skies;
Lower thy large pure eyes.

Thy faultless body veil,
So chaste and pale;
Thy faultless body veil.

Thy lips let silence tie
While I pass by;
Thy lips let silence tie.

For sight of beauty slays
Who dares to gaze.
Oft beauty snares and slays.
