IN MEMORIAM G.D. by CHARLES WILLIAM BRODRIBB

First Line: THE CHURCH; THE MOVING BIER; THE PSALMIST'S SPAN
Last Line: HIS OWN AND OTHERS' HONOUR TO HIS TENT.
Subject(s): LEADERSHIP; MEMORY;

The church; the moving bier; the Psalmist's span
Used to the full! This was King Henry's man,
Waynflete's and Chichele's pledge, once far from hence
Blessed by the Southern Cross's influence.
Bone of his Yorkshire's bone, none truer bred,
The sportsman's temper and the statesman's head;
Who bore like knight magnanimously spent
His own and others' honour to his tent.
