I WOULD I COULD DANCE by HELEN M. BROUGH

Last Line: FORE YOUR LAUGHING EYE.
Subject(s): AMBITION; DANCING & DANCERS; LONGING;

I would I could dance
So lightly and airily,
Toe tripping, feet skipping,
So gracefully, fairily.

My soul I would pawn
To be able to twirl,
To make pulses quicken
As I prance and whirl.

I would I could dance --
You scoff as I try --
My clown antics prance
'Fore your laughing eye.
