SELFISHNESS by MARGARET E. BRUNER

First Line: DEATH TAKES OUR LOVED ONES
Last Line: THE DEAD KNOW NOUGHT OF SORROW.
Subject(s): DEATH; GRIEF; DEAD, THE; SORROW; SADNESS;

Death takes our loved ones --
We are bowed in grief. For whom?
Are we not selfish?
A mourner weeps for himself,
The dead know nought of sorrow.
