NATURE'S WORD by RICHARD EUGENE BURTON

First Line: IN HOLY MOMENTS, WHEN GREAT NATURE SEEMS
Last Line: OR WHERE WE KNOW NOT, BUT WE TRUST THE WORD.
Subject(s): DREAMS; EARTH; HEARTS; NATURE; NIGHTMARES; WORLD;

IN holy moments, when great Nature seems
Hushed and a-listen, earth and air and sky
In all their loveliness aroused from dreams,
Ready for revelations from on high;

We mortals, too, await in wonder then, --
Hearts throbbing like some small, just-captured bird, --
Something divine about-to-be, -- ah, when
Or where we know not, but we trust the Word.
