SEA AND SHORE by RICHARD EUGENE BURTON

First Line: HAVE YOU MARKED HOW THE SEA WITH FOAM
Last Line: WHEN THE TIDE SETS OUT TO SEA.
Subject(s): FAREWELL; HOME; LOVE; SEA; SINGING & SINGERS; PARTING; OCEAN; SONGS;

HAVE you marked how the sea with foam
At the kiss of the shore turns white?
She has found a love and a home;
Then why should she lack delight?

A thought lies cold at her heart,
Till she pales all suddenly;
For she knows they must part, must part,
When the tide sets out to sea.
