HELEN KELLER by WITTER BYNNER

Poet Analysis

First Line: WHAT ARE EYES FOR BUT TO SEE THE TRUTH SHE SEES
Last Line: AND DEAD FOLK SKIES.
Subject(s): EYES; KELLER, HELEN (1880-1968); TRUTH;

What are eyes for but to see the truth she sees,
Yet how seldom seen with eyes --
As though living folk should see only dark earth
And dead folk skies.
