SEA WAVE by MABEL W. S. CALL

First Line: A LITTLE WAVE MERMAID
Last Line: LIKE A WHITE FERN.
Subject(s): MERMAIDS & MERMEN; SEA; OCEAN;

A little wave mermaid
Dashed up the ship's prow,
Dived with a gay bow
Back to the sea

Swirling her froth dress,
White beaded necklace,
Tossing her foam tress,
Laughed up at me.

Little blue mermaid
Slipped by the ship's side,
Rocked on the wave-tide,
Fell far a-stern.

Sang in the sunshine,
Flung back the white brine
Lost in a froth line, --
Like a white fern.
