SONGS OF THE SEA CHILDREN: 64 by BLISS CARMAN

First Line: I KNEW, BY THAT DIVINER SENSE
Last Line: TO GLAD ONE MORTAL LOVER MORE.
Subject(s): BEAUTY; PASSION;

I knew, by that diviner sense
Which wakes to beauty sweet and lone,
Once more beneath the moonlit boughs
Astarte had unloosed her zone;
Immortal passion, fair and wild,
Remembering her joys of yore,
Had taken on the human guise
To glad one mortal lover more.
