MOTHER by CATHARINE CARSTENSEN

First Line: MOTHER SITS IN THE OLD ARMCHAIR
Last Line: CHILDREN AND MOTHER, A LOYAL PAIR.
Subject(s): AGING; MOTHERS; MOTHERS & DAUGHTERS;

Mother sits in the old armchair,
Great-grandmother of children fair,
She has seen of life here and there,
Hardships endured we would not dare,
And still, a sweet smile lingers there
On her face -- crowned with silver hair;
And she all of our trouble shares
To ease crossing the bridge of cares;
Children and mother, a loyal pair.
