A NEW YEAR'S MESSAGE by BLANCHE EDENS CHANDLER

First Line: AS I LOOK ALL AROUND ME AND WONDER
Last Line: LIVING THE NEW YEAR, DAY BY DAY.
Subject(s): CHRISTIANITY; HOLIDAYS; LEADERSHIP; NEW YEAR;

As I look all around me and wonder
Just what the New Year holds,
I hear a Voice saying, "Fear Not";
And I know it's the One who molds
The lives of men, and their destiny.
I am afraid to travel alone
The rough, rugged pathway I trod;
Yet I will have sure, safe council,
If I will but listen to God.
I am so weak and sinful,
And know not the best thing to do;
But I have a Friend who is loyal,
I have a Friend who is true;
And when I would fail Him and falter,
When temptations spring up anew;
I list to the Voice above
As it tells me of Jesus' love;
And I know I am safe, as I go my way
Living the New Year, day by day.
