THE TWO FLOWERS by GEORGE HERBERT CLARKE

First Line: HELEN WORE IT IN HER HAIR
Last Line: NO LITTLE FLOWER SO HOLY ANYWHERE!
Subject(s): DEATH; FLOWERS; LOVE; MAN-WOMAN RELATIONSHIPS; DEAD, THE; MALE-FEMALE RELATIONS;

@2H@1ELEN wore it in her hair,
That little fragile flower,
Wore it for an hour,—
Then she laughed and gave it me to wear;—
No little flower so holy anywhere!

Fate looked and found my Helen fair,—
That little fragile flower,—
Spared her but an hour;
When she died the dayspring vanished there;—
No little flower so holy anywhere!
