AUTUMN PROPHECY by GORDON DALE CLARKE

First Line: THE SEASON OF DEATH AND REPINING
Last Line: INEVITABLE TO DEATH.
Subject(s): AUTUMN; SEASONS; FALL;

The season of death and repining
Comes too colored with gay clarions
For the silly, fitful shell of human hearing.
But there's a softness of death, -- a gypsy
Who swoops with gentle whispers, mocking,
Ironic, as she piles red tree-tresses in
Damp hollows . . .
Such wisdom. the vanguard of dying,
Inevitable to death.
