I want to go to the hills of Oklahoma -- Where trailing mists of tender light Melt in the violet shades of night -- I want to be in the hills of Oklahoma -- When robins start their annual flight And Winter girds himself with might -- O, let me see the hills of Oklahoma When a mocking bird in plaintive cry Brings the mating call of a bob-white nigh! My heart cries out for the hills of Oklahoma -- Where goldenrod in masses bright Reflect their glow in sunset-light. All nature sings in the hills of Oklahoma, As crickets chirp within the grass And humming locusts dip and pass -- O take me back to the hills of Oklahoma!
