OF ONE REMEMBERED by ELIZABETH COPMANN

First Line: ALWAYS I SEE HER AS A FLOWER
Last Line: TOUCHED EARTH -- AND KNEW ITS YEARNING.

Always I see her as a flower
Lifting an ardent face to the sun,
Unmindful of the burning:

Yet I remember a gentle hour
When that proud head bent low by the rain
Touched earth -- and knew its yearning.
