GRASS by PAUL EDWARD CORLETT

First Line: I WALKED AMONG THE CATHEDRALS
Last Line: IS VERY KIND!
Subject(s): CEMETERIES; GRASS; GRAVEYARDS;

I walked among the Cathedrals
Of Death: some were like
Athenian palaces of old.
Some were bright and new
Marble from Vermont.
Some were stately and others
Old and rain-washed: ravished
By elements unseen.
Tumbled and unkept stones
Marked the graves of some.
Yet all was silence there
In the Cemetery and grass was
Over the graves: and the grass
Is very kind!
