CONTRAST by WILDA LEE CUMMINGS

First Line: HE WAS A MAN OF GREATNESS AND GLORY
Last Line: THAT WAS WASHINGTON, TOO.
Subject(s): BOYS; PRESIDENTS, UNITED STATES; WASHINGTON, GEORGE (1732-1799);

He was a man of greatness and glory.
He was hailed as the rescuer of a nation,
The hero of countless battles --
That was Washington.

He was the bov whose mother worried about him --
Whether his hair was combed,
And if he'd washed behind his ears, --
If he felt ill from eating green apples.
That was Washington, too.
