THE sap is bubbling in the tree, The pink buds herald spring. Yet winter holds for you and me One charm to which we cling. The April sun grows warm by noon, Its daylight skies are bright; But the cool evenings bring the boon Of a wood fire at night. The greening sod of April days Is lovely to the eye, But firmer, lovelier turf is May's And kindlier glows the sky. Let striplings to the greenwood go For April's chill delight, But we two still shall bless the glow Of a wood fire at night. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE CRAFTSMAN by MARCUS B.
