HEAVEN by MARY CAROLYN DAVIES

First Line: WHAT CAN THE WISE MEN KNOW OF HEAVEN?
Last Line: HEAVEN IS NOT YET BEING OLD.
Subject(s): HEAVEN; PARADISE;

What can the wise men know of heaven?
What can the ancient know at all?
But we, tonight, while the world is sleeping,
We two, breathless, have scaled its wall.

Heaven is not a stately city,
Set on a hill, with streets of gold.
Heaven is only you to want me,
Heaven is not yet being old.
