A LOVELY DAY by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES

Poet Analysis

First Line: A CLOUDLESS PATH FROM EAST TO WEST
Last Line: AND DIE, AS HE HAS DIED.
Subject(s): DAY;

A cloudless path from East to West,
Undimmed, and shining still –
The Sun has died as he was born,
And only changed his hill.

What words can praise him for this day,
To show my joy and pride –
But that I'd give my life for it,
And die, as he has died.
